SophosAnti-virus提供查毒和殺毒功能，能對臺式機、網路作業系統、筆記本電腦、
工作站和伺服器進行保護。它能提供即時和定時二種病毒掃描方式。其中即時掃描，
能通過Intercheck技術對需要進行訪問的每個檔進行掃描，只有沒有感染病毒它才允
許用戶訪問有使用該檔。在工作站和終端用戶無需進行操作的情況下，Sophos的安裝、
配置、以及升級，都可由系統管理員通過SAVadmin的中央安裝目錄（CID）來處理，因此
使用很方便。通過EnterpriseManager還可以實現從Sophos網站到伺服器、工作站及
終端用戶的自動升級。SophosAnti-virus能夠監控所以入口點，包括磁片、程式、文檔、
網路驅動器、光碟以及電子郵件和從網際網路下載到臺式機上的各種東西；它能檢測和
清除各種巨集病毒，引導區病毒和PE可執行檔病毒；支援對壓縮檔的查殺。

SophosAnti-virus還支援多作業系統和多檔系統（filesystems）。能及時完整地提
供病毒告警消息：desktopalerts,networkmessage,intercheckserverevent,
